The New York Fashion Week: What to Know Before the Show Starts
New York City Fashion Week, a big week for pop culture, has officially kicked off with a bang, with more than 50 new shows, plus a few surprises like the premiere of the film “Lion” starring Charlize Theron.
Now, we’re here to get you ready for a big night of music, fashion, and entertainment.
Here are the five things to know about the week that will change the way you dress, shop, and perform.

New Shows: The week’s big shows will begin with a pair of New York premieres at the Brooklyn Academy of Music on March 11 and the Royal Albert Hall on March 12.
The latter will be followed by the premiere at the Empire Polo Club on March 19.
These two shows are just the start of the show, which is set to open at 8 p.m. and will include live performances from the likes of Florence Welch, Sia, and M.I.A. The Empire Polo will host the premiere and a sold-out special performance of the band’s new song “The Last Kiss.”

The New Fashion: It’s not often that a fashion show is all about the fashion, but that’s exactly what is happening at New York’s Fashion Week.
The show’s lineup is dominated by the hottest designers in the industry, but there’s plenty of music and pop-culture-focused events to keep your eyes peeled for.
Here’s a look at what to expect.
March 11: Sia – New York, 8:30 p.mp3 Sia performs at the New York Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on March 10.
“The Night I Met Your Mother” (season 5, episode 6; originally aired May 5, 2018) Sia is known for her sexy, high-fashion looks and the way she captures the moods of her fans on social media.
“I’m the one that’s in the spotlight,” she told the New Yorker about how she chose to focus on style over music.
“So when you see my clothes on social, I want you to be like, ‘What’s going on?
What’s going through her mind?'”
March 12: M.i.a.
– The Empire, 8 p,mp3 The pop sensation has teamed up with fashion label New Yorkswear and has launched an Instagram account with a teaser featuring her outfits, which are all inspired by her own look.
March 13: Florence Welch – Royal Albert, 8-9 p,mkv Florence Welch performs at The Royal Albert in London on March 13.
“Love Me Like You Do” (ep.
4; originally broadcast February 26, 2018; originally released March 15, 2018)–The singer/songwriter’s “Love You Like You Don’t Care” will be released on March 20.
March 14: SZA – Empire Polo, 8,mp4 SZA performs at Empire Polo in New York on March 14.
March 15: SIA – Royal Adelaide, 8pm-10pm,mkiv Sia performed in her latest performance at the Royal Adelaide on March 15.
“Dance of the Velvet Underground” (episode 4; first aired April 6, 2018)(The new season premiered April 6)–Sia and Miley Cyrus will be collaborating on the new album.
Sia will perform the song “Hustle and Flow” for Cyrus, and the pair will be joined by other music superstars like the likes and Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey, and Justin Bieber.
The two will also perform “Dancing in the Dark” for fans.
March 16: Florence & The Machine – Empire, 10pm-12am,mkvi Florence &s,The Machine performs at Royal Albert Park in London, England on March 16.
The band will also be performing a special “Hoop Dreams” video.
