Why do I feel the need to buy a tattoo?
Some of the world’s best-known tattoo artists, like Jovan Adrián and Marco Polo, use a form of ink that has become a standard in the art of tattooing.
And that’s not all.
A large number of tattoo artists have found it easier to access funding through the crowdfunding site Kickstarter.
In fact, more than 100,000 people have pledged at least $100,000 to the campaign, which began in March and has already raised more than $9.7 million in donations.
That is just one reason why it is so important to understand the ins and outs of crowdfunding, particularly for artists.
Here are some of the main reasons why it can be so important: 1.
The amount of money can vary widely.
Many crowdfunding campaigns have a specific goal, or target, and then offer to give up their profits if the campaign is successful.
For instance, a campaign on Indiegogo for a tattoo on a young girl in Mexico is offering to give half the money raised to the girl’s school, while another campaign on Kickstarter asks for the money to be donated to a child cancer research fund.
These campaigns are often very generous and offer an incentive to get more people involved.
“I think it’s good to have a wide range of people,” says John Boczarski, a tattoo artist and author of The Art of Tattooing.
“You can have a lot of people that are interested in doing a tattoo but also the most interested in having a tattoo that will make them happy, a lot more than people who have never done a tattoo before.”
2.
The process is easy and transparent.
Unlike a traditional campaign where artists have to get involved in creating the tattoo themselves, campaigns are open-source, meaning you can ask for money and see the process.
You can even share your experience with other artists, who can then share their own experience and ideas for how to make your own tattoo.
3.
You can get feedback from a lot people.
Whether you’re a novice artist or a seasoned veteran, there is plenty of information out there on how to do your own tattoos.
Some campaigns even have an on-demand service that will give you advice on how best to proceed.
4.
It’s quick and easy to get started.
The easiest way to get your tattoo done is with a tattoo machine.
But if you don’t have access to a tattoo studio or just want to try it out, there are other ways to get a tattoo done.
It can be a pain to get the tattoo done, but there are plenty of ways to do it in your own home.
5.
It can help with money management.
There are many things to consider when deciding what to do with your money.
As a general rule, you should be careful with money that is used for tattoo ink, but if you can, there will be other opportunities to donate your money to charities, support charities or volunteer.
6.
You don’t need a tattoo for your identity to be recognized.
Tattoo artists have often used their art to identify themselves, but it’s important to remember that there is no legal requirement for a person to have one tattoo or be branded with their tattoo, even if it’s inked on their face.
7.
You get to wear the tattoo, not just the logo.
While many tattoo artists choose to put the logo on the inside of the tattoo to be identifiable, there’s nothing stopping them from using it on the outside as well.
If you choose to wear your tattoo on the front of your body, that logo will be visible, and that can help you get your money back if you have a claim for damages or are unable to pay the claim, says Bocszarsky.
8.
It will help your business.
Most tattoo artists work with clients that have a variety of different goals, from weddings to birthdays.
When a tattoo is done, a large percentage of the ink will stay on your body and that’s good for your business, says Adrión.
Plus, if your business is successful, you’ll get a commission from any sales from your clients that are sold, which is often the best way to generate income.
9.
You know who your customer is.
With tattoo artists having their own personal lives, they often have a tendency to not only use their art for their personal reasons, but to also incorporate it into their business.
This can create a personal connection between you and your clients, which helps you build trust.
10.
You may even get a lot out of it.
One of the biggest benefits of crowdfunding is that it can give you a great opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.
So if you’re feeling overwhelmed, there may be other ways you can get involved with your business to make the process easier.
